Holiday Table Reveal

A few weeks ago I blogged about our last Christmas table decoration and I was very confident I could reveal this year’s to you in a timely manner. I failed! Well, for starters, we had to rent 14 feet worth of table and 16 chairs as we were hosting quite the holiday crew this year, hence posting about it before Christmas would have been impossible. Secondly, I don’t know about you but, since I am doing all of this by myself (the blog I mean), between online shopping, hosting house guests, making homemade gift this year (post coming soon), making homemade pasta for 16 AND taking care of a 4 year old, I simply didn’t have time to sit down to write a post.

I still hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve done this year, even though it’s a little late in the game!

To be honest, when I put together last year’s holiday table, I didn’t really have a plan. I was lucky to have a rather festive table cloth in my small collection and I improvised by adding succulents gifted the night before as a center piece. That was pretty much it. This year however, I put more thoughts into it. The inspiration for the theme was two grey linen table cloths I had bought on super sale at Zara Home in Switzerland during a trip there last summer.

Turned out both put side by side were not going to be long enough for the 14ft long table. Stars were on my side once again as I was able to use a third grey one from my collection.

$10 worth of eucalyptus branches, 8 tangerines, a few pines, cloves, and an $8 white bead garland from Target later and ta-daaaaa…

Grey plates are from Ikea. Sage plates from Target and cross plates also from Target. Orange napkins are from Pottery Barn (similar) and the grey and beige ones, from H&M Home.

We had such a good time hosting friends and family! And now, cheers to a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!!!
